Go for Launch

Zorro did the full height teeter in sequence last night in class. First time. No big deal :)

Trial schedule
8/18 USDAA Intro Jumpers and Snooker
8/25 CPE Jumpers, Colors and Fullhouse
8/28 UKI Speedstakes, 16" Select
9/7th (or 8th) Intro Gamblers and Jumpers
9/14 USDAA Intro Jumpers
9/17 UKI Speedstakes

we will be busy! It seems like a lot but it's really just 1-3 runs here and there and all but one of those trials is at our training center where we pretty much live anyway.
I'm excited :)

The CPE was a last minute decision. Donna wanted to get Luna to a CPE trial and when she asked me if I was doing any coming up I checked the schedule, saw one next weekend at my favorite trial site and well... we're going! I love that you can train in the ring in CPE. If you couldn't, if i didn't have that option, I don't think I would have gone for it.
And the thought of getting away from Barto and all of the suffocating presences there and having a relaxing fun day with flowing courses and games is so appealing to me.

And now they have online dog registration which is SO nice. I remember it used to take weeks, and in the case of Ein's registration...MONTHS. I registered him last night and got his # today. He will be a 16" regular in that since he just has to be between 16-20".
Every other venue that I do, USDAA UKI and AKC he will be a 20" jumping dog. I have not worked him to full height yet and I am in no hurry to. I can always jump him at 20" in CPE electively. I did that with Molly for years.
UKI he can jump 16" select (he is actually only permitted to enter Nursery or Speedstakes in that venue.)
And USDAA he can only enter Intro at whatever height I desire. He does not need to be measured.

The main thing is getting him places and getting him acclimated to trialing. I can use my toy in ALL of the trials I have him entered in if he needs extra support. He will not be exposed to any obstacles he is not steady on. I am looking forwards to this. I think he has such a leg up since he has been coming to agility trials since he was a baby. So good for dogs to get used to that atmosphere.
